The Faxon Duty Series Gunner Barrel for the 5.56x45mm is manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave. The barrel is machined from certified 4150 steel with QPQ nitride coating for added durability and longevity. Each barrel is magnetic particle inspected (MPI) to ensure perfect surfaces and sub-surfaces as well as air-gauge tested to ensure superior accuracy. The Faxon Gunner is button rifled and perfectly designed for those looking to save weight while still allowing for the use of a suppressor long-term.
The Gunner profile is a blend of two of the best performing profiles of all time, Gov’t and Pencil. Faxon’s Gunner profile combines the durability of the Gov’t profile with the weight savings and maneuverability of the Pencil profile. The Gunner profile brings the balance of the rifle back towards the shooter’s body, limiting fatigue, and allowing for shooting, training, or hunting all day long.
Faxon took the biggest headache out of pinning your gas block by pre-notching the gas block journal and drilling corresponding holes in the included low profile gas block. Each Pinned Gas Block Barrel comes with the pin, as well as a gas block. Gas blocks are hand-tightened to the barrel for shipping. Pinning your gas block, in addition to the use of set screws, gives the user the extra piece of mind that your gas block won’t shift or loosen while firing.
